I'm Ready. Sign Me Up for June 17 Course

Promise2Live was created to bring hope, reduce stigma, and remind people they are not alone. Asking for help is strength, and change can begin with one honest step.

That same purpose is behind this invitation.

Counterfeit Emotions is partnering with Promise2Live to offer one full scholarship for the Men’s Pornography Recovery Program.

Many men are fighting a private battle. On the outside, they may look steady and successful. On the inside, they may feel stuck in patterns of shame, secrecy, and isolation.

This program is designed to help men step out of that cycle and into connection.

Rather than focusing only on behavior, it helps men identify and understand the emotional patterns driving it—so real change becomes possible.

This is about becoming a man who no longer relies on pornography to cope, who can face life with greater awareness, connection, and purpose.

The next course begins June 17, 2026. The deadline to apply for the full scholarship is June 12, and the recipient will be notified by June 13.

It's not too late to sign up! There is time and room to still join our June 17th Cohort. We are accepting new members up until June 24th.

Weekly meetings are held Wednesdays from 6:00–9:00 PM MST, in person in Lehi, UT or online. Dinner is provided for those attending in person.

Every man who has signed the Promise2Live commitment will receive a $200 scholarship toward the program, even if not selected for the full scholarship.

If you feel ready to take a meaningful step forward, we invite you to apply.

You matter.
Your future matters.
You do not have to face this alone.

Insights to Help You Understand, Overcome, and Find True Recovery from Pornography

How Is This Program Different?

This program takes a different approach to pornography recovery. Rather than relying on filters, blockers, or short-term strategies designed only to extend periods of sobriety, we focus on the deeper work of lasting recovery.

Instead of simply trying to eliminate the unwanted behavior, we work to understand and address the underlying emotional patterns that create the need in the first place.

Throughout the program, you will engage in focused, intentional work that can be both challenging and deeply healing. Each week we explore the “Counterfeit Emotions” that often keep people stuck in unhealthy cycles, and we begin replacing them with emotional awareness, authenticity, and personal responsibility.

You will learn practical tools that build confidence and resilience, helping you navigate stress, relationships, and difficult emotions without returning to old patterns.

Most importantly, this is a shame-free environment. Real recovery happens when people feel safe enough to be honest, understood, and supported as they grow into a more authentic and whole life.

"Counterfeit Emotions Recovery Program taught me about my emotions instead of the actions behind it. Learning about and picking apart the emotional need for my behavior was life changing!"

-Taylor C.

"I found more than just addiction recovery in the Counterfeit Emotions Recovery Program, I also found support from the awesome men in my cohort and from Curtis. From them I learned how to face all of my demons and understand the genuine emotions that were getting buried inside me. My greatest win with this program was putting in the work that transformed me from a victim to a Victor and started to become a Vessel for Good. And helping others recover."

See what men are saying about their experiences in the Recovery Program

"Others programs provided connection and conversation, but this provides truthful principles applied to my personal life experiences. "

-Jeremy C.

"I feel like this was the most shame-free program. Mostly because of the facilitator. I NEVER felt shamed. Which I believe is one of the main reasons there was so much success."

-Doug H.

"This program emphasizes hope rather than shame, unlike other programs I have been a part of."

-James W.

“When I first heard Curtis speak at a Heare Brotherhood event, I immediately sensed he had deep wisdom I needed, so I was glad he found a place for me in his Pornography Addiction cohort. I was hardly prepared for the shift, the understanding and vulnerability he extended so that I could find inner healing, personal honesty/accountability, and deeper awareness. I learned exactly how and why I had sabotaged my authentic self in living out counterfeit belief systems—lusting instead of loving, being nice vs. being kind, and seeking perfection instead of excellence.

Ironically, I didn’t even have what I considered a ‘pornography issue’, but I began to see the same thread which runs through every one of my self-numbing, validation-seeking and self-sabotaging actions. Through Curtis’ help, I realized that indeed I had been addicted to shame; at the root of my running from deeper issues. He invited me to look at myself differently with greater honesty and awareness. Through implementing his insights my relationship to myself began to shift into one of deeper wholeness, followed by my relationship to my coping mechanisms, then with others. Toward the end, I found myself filled with gratitude for my pain and years of struggle, including my childhood experiences and marriage struggles, which I recognize as a precious gift that ushered me into greater wholeness. I am grateful for Curtis who willingly dedicated his life to be my sherpa in my ascent toward wholeness and peace.”

-Niki C.

Curtis brings decades of experience in leadership, personal development, coaching, and emotional awareness to the Recovery Program. His work is shaped by a unique blend of leadership experience, lived recovery experience, and deep compassion for men who are ready for lasting change.

Curtis understands the struggle with pornography because he has lived it himself. He knows the shame, isolation, hopelessness, and frustration that can come from trying to break free while feeling stuck in the cycle.

After years in programs centered primarily on sobriety, Curtis became convinced there had to be a deeper path to peace. Through personal study, research, and graduate work in psychology, he developed an approach that helps men break the shame cycle and pursue true recovery.

His mission is to help men break free from pornography usage by addressing the beliefs and emotional patterns beneath the actions. Through the Recovery Program, Curtis creates a safe and confidential space where vulnerability becomes strength, connection becomes the goal, and real recovery becomes possible.

Curtis is also the host of the Counterfeit Emotions Podcast, where he explores topics and life stories of his guests, like emotional pain, connection, and overcoming some of life's biggest challenges with courage, compassion, and grace. He has interviewed Guinness World Record Holders. Olympians, therapists, psychologists, and great humans with deep vulnerable insights.

At the center of his work is one driving passion: helping people feel again, heal deeply, and find peace, purpose, and power.
