You are a Genius!
Looks like you identify with the The Genius type of Imposter Syndrome
The Genius—The Genius often judges their competence based on the ease and speed with which they can get things done. When a task can’t get done quickly, fluently, or correctly the first time, it can evoke feelings of shame. After all, they are expected to possess a “natural” prowess for entrepreneurial endeavors.
Here are five solutions for breaking free for “The Genius” Imposter Syndrome:
- Natural ability is only the start. True success comes in the form of hard work and an indefatigable drive added to any type of genius. Your success isn’t found in being a genius alone. There are many geniuses that never saw success because they weren’t willing to work.
- Publicly acknowledge talents you would like to improve. Let others know you are not 100% proficient in all things but there are things you are excited to learn that you don’t know.
- Chunk your victories. Make smaller goals from the larger goals. Mark off each milestone with a sense of satisfaction. Everything is possible if we break it into small pieces.
- Celebrate the smaller achievements along the way. Reward yourself for the smaller chunks discussed above so that they are memorable and motivating. It’s not an all or nothing scenario. You can celebrate the end but also celebrate
- Practice not Perfection. The goal is to become not to be. Being is static. Becoming is dynamic. Being is fixed. Becoming is vibrant.
